We are the people of God, siblings with all the baptized, and members of the Body of Christ. Our congregation is a member of the New Jersey Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

We are organized as a congregation with a Council for leadership, comprised of members elected by the whole congregation and tasked with the responsibility to make sure things get done and the mission of the congregation is undertaken faithfully by all members. We have a pastor who is called by the congregation to serve as our spiritual leader, to administer the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion, and to proclaim the Word of God in our assembly so that we might better understand our calling in this world.

The Reverend Kathryn Suzanne Irwin
(but you can just call her Kat)

Kathryn was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania, but lives now in Rahway, NJ with her spouse and three children. Her spouse, Carmine, is also a Lutheran pastor, serving Zion Lutheran Church in Rahway.

She holds a BSW from Pacific Lutheran University and an MDiv from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.

Kathryn has served as pastor of HTLC since August, 2016.
